Types of Luv Manipulation

The Luv can be shaped in specific ways, depending on what ability a Luvteal is born with their magical Luv Manipulation are based on the Luv Manipulation of their parents. Luvteal can have multiple types of Luv Manipulation depending on their parents having different types of Luv Manipulation increasing their chances of having both. But in most cases, a Luvteal only has one type of Luv Manipulation. 

Luvweaving (Elemental Magic)

Concept: Luvweavers manipulate natural elements (fire, water, air, and earth) by channeling the Luv directly into these forces. They can conjure storms, move mountains, or control fire—but only as long as their personal well allows.

Mechanics: Luvweaving requires direct interaction with the element being manipulated. A Luvweaver can not create the element that they want to manipulate they can only manipulate what is already there. So it is common for Luvweavers to carry many natural elements to use when needed. For example, many Luvweavers who focus on fire carry Roz Stones or Fire Stones, a type of stone that when thrown on the ground with force ignites into a ball of fire allowing for the manipulation of the newly created flames.

Limitations: Large-scale manipulations rapidly drain the personal Luv well, and the elemental backlash (e.g., an uncontrolled wildfire) can endanger the Luvteal and those nearby.

Luvshaping (Constructs)

Concept: Luvshapers form solid, physical constructs using raw Luv energy. These constructs can take the form of barriers, weapons, or even temporary structures, but they require immense focus and are temporary.

Mechanics: The more detailed or durable the construct, the more Luv is required. Simple shields or weapons can be maintained for long periods, while complex structures or intricate tools drain the Luv well quickly.

Limitations: Constructs dissolve when the Luvteal loses concentration or exhausts their Luv Well. Over-reliance on Luvshaping leads to mental fatigue and migraines.

Luvsifting (Mind and Sensory Magic)

Concept: Luvsifters manipulate the senses and minds of others by linking their own Luv field with another person, allowing them to alter perception, implant suggestions, or create illusions.

Mechanics: Sifters must establish a Luv link with their target, which can be difficult if the target has a strong will or is protected by magical wards. Once linked, the Sifter can influence thoughts, and emotions, or even create sensory illusions.

Limitations: Sifting more than one mind at once is dangerous and can cause the Sifter to lose themselves in their target’s thoughts. Prolonged sifting leads to sensory overload, with symptoms like blindness or deafness as a result of overextending the senses.

Luvanchoring (Physical Enhancement)

Concept: Anchors channel the Luv directly into their own bodies, enhancing their physical attributes such as strength, speed, and durability. Advanced Anchors can also heal themselves or others by manipulating the life force within the Luv field.

Mechanics: Luvanchoring allows temporary boosts to physical performance, but it places extreme strain on the body, requiring the Anchor to rest after intense use.

Limitations: Continuous use of Luvanchoring causes muscle tearing and internal damage. Healing magic is limited by the Anchor’s personal Luv Well, and healing severe injuries can result in permanent magical depletion.

Luvgatekeeping (Spatial Manipulation)

Concept: Gatekeepers manipulate space and distance by bending the Luv field around objects or themselves. They can create portals, move objects over short distances, or even "fold" space to appear closer to distant points.

Mechanics: Creating stable portals requires intricate knowledge of the Luv field and considerable Luv energy. The larger the object or the farther the distance, the more taxing the process.

Limitations: Gatekeeping requires immense precision. Miscalculating a portal can result in spatial anomalies, where objects are trapped in between or torn apart by unstable Luv currents. Using this discipline too frequently causes vertigo, nausea, and spatial disorientation.
